The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) will host its Data Day 2026 on 24 November in Paris, the authority has said. The event is titled 'Data in the Savings and Investment Union - from burden to opportunity'. According to ESMA, technology, use of data and simplification of reporting requirements will be at the centre of the event.

ESMA said the event builds on the success of the first edition. It will bring together over 200 industry participants, regulators and other stakeholders. The discussions will cover key developments in supervisory reporting and regulatory disclosures. They will also address the role of data in supporting more effective supervision and further integration in capital markets across the European Union.

Agenda and sessions

The agenda of the full day event will include parallel sessions covering several strategic initiatives. ESMA listed these as simplification and burden reduction, financial transaction reporting, integrated fund reporting, the European Single Access Point (ESAP) and crypto-asset monitoring.

The event will take place in Paris. ESMA said some sessions will also be available via online streaming. For more information and registration arrangements, ESMA directed interested parties to consult the dedicated event page.

An item dated 02/07/2026 said ESMA has identified up to €1 billion in potential annual savings from simplifying EU transaction reporting.

ESMA described itself in the document as the EU's financial markets regulator and supervisor. The Data Day 2026 event is categorised under market data. The document was dated 04/09/2026.

The authority said the event will discuss key developments in supervisory reporting and regulatory disclosures. It will also examine the role of data in supporting more effective supervision and further integration in capital markets across the European Union. The parallel sessions will cover the strategic initiatives listed by ESMA.

Registration and further details are available via the dedicated event page, ESMA said. The authority said some sessions will be available via online streaming, while the event itself takes place in Paris. ESMA said the event builds on the success of the first edition and will bring together over 200 industry participants, regulators and other stakeholders.

What this means: EU rules set the floor for anyone serving EU clients, so a change here usually changes the sequencing of an application rather than the destination. Consulting24 delivers CASP-track company and licensing work directly in Estonia and Lithuania, and the binding constraint is normally the regulator's queue rather than the incorporation.
