The booming Defi division is driving up MetaMask's user base, with the well known Ethereum wallet report currently reporting more than one million active monthly users.
MetaMask, the Ethereum (ETH) browser wallet created by ConsenSys, has outperformed one million monthly active users unexpectedly.
The milestone comes approximately seven months after the wallet originally outperformed one million users in absolute, suggesting the explanatory ascent of decentralized finance (Defi) in 2020 has driven the flood in MetaMask's user base.
In a declaration, MetaMask notes top Defi conventions Uniswap, Yearn Finance, Curve, MakerDAO, and Aave among those supported by its users, highlighting its pledge to supporting the growth of Defi moving forward:
"Over the last twelve months, significant growth in the adoption of DAOs, Web3 games, and the rapid consumer uptake of Defi products and services has further accelerated our growth curve."
Monthly MetaMask users have significantly increased since February, while the absolute worth secured Defi conventions has increased by multiple times over a similar period, according to Defi beat.
