IBM blockchain new app intends to support people around the earth to go back to real meetings during the COVID-19.
A healthcare-focused tech giant IBM Watson Health is starting IBM Digital Health Pass, a blockchain-based application to help worldwide businesses and organizations as they begin to reopen after many months of lockdown.
IBM Watson told that unique application can use multiple data types like COVID-19 test results and onsite temperature scans to create a confirmed health status. With the chance to confirm health status through the app, people can securely enter access places like a sports arena, airplanes, museums, or entertainment parks, IBM’s spokesman told.
Eric Piscini who is the vice president of the blockchain division at IBM Watson Health highlighted that IBM Digital Health Pass is created to help privacy as its heart feature.
The application will let users share their verified health pass without revealing any of the basic data used to create it according to the executive:
“We believe that trust and transparency remain paramount when developing a platform like a digital health passport, or any solution that handles sensitive personal information, and we remain committed to this philosophy as we continue to build solutions to help support organizations during the current public health crisis.”
For the IBM blockchain, it's not the first time to use it to help people tackle COVID-19.
IBM also began IBM’s Rapid Supplier Connect network earlier this year, this is a cloud-based app that uses blockchain to assist companies in giving coronavirus aid equipment to connect with buyers.
