Crypto enthusiasts Brock Pierce and Akon are going to unite forces for the 2020 US presidential election.
Akon, who is a crypto entrepreneur will support crypto venture capitalist for the U.S. President, Brock Pierce and he is also joining his, 2020 campaign team.
J.D. Durkin published on Aug. 24 that Akon will be working as the chief strategist for Pierce’s campaign this election year according to online news outlet Cheddar.
Pierce reportedly praised the singer’s achievements in Africa and knowledge as a businessman and artist as some of the reasons for the addition to his campaign.
Akon said:
"I've always known Brock Pierce to be a standup guy,” and he added “He's a real people's person and he doesn't operate between party lines. We share the same dream of pushing America forward for everyone without showing favoritism to one particular base."
Pierce working for the win
Pierce announced last week in an interview that one of his main campaign goals for 2020 was to move away from electoral votes from Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
This effort is the only reasonable way for Pierce to gain the win for the presidency, as he said his campaign in early July, after the filing deadline for independents had passed in Indiana, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Texas. If neither Trump nor Biden wins 270 or more of the electoral votes, then the U.S. House of Representatives would get the last vote of the top three presidential candidates — which could also include Pierce.
So it might be a good thing that Akon was added to Pierce’s campaign, it may result even more media appearance and help to put attention on cryptocurrency as an election issue. Currently, Akon is working with a team to develop Akon City, a 2,000-acre crypto plan in Senegal ‘powered by’ Akoin, a utility token aimed at the African market.
