2: €3,500 - This fee covers the appointment of an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) officer. Every company is obligated to have an AML officer, incurring a minimum monthly cost of €2,500.
3: Starting at €600 - This is the estimated monthly overhead for setting up a physical office location.
4: €3,500 - This fee caters to the engagement of an external auditor to carry out financial scrutiny and ensure compliance.
The Process
Step 1: Kick-start Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and Source-of-Funds (SOF) checks.
Step 2: Finalize the agreement through proper contract execution.
Step 3: Begin the process of registering the company as a Private Limited Company (LTD or OÜ in Estonian). This can be achieved within 48 hours.
Step 4: Conduct the transfer of company shares using a notarized Power of Attorney (POA). Remote transfers are enabled due to COVID-19, removing the need for physical presence.
Step 5: Following the transfer, initiate proceedings for establishing a bank or PSP account in an EEA country offering services in Estonia, or with a service provider that has a branch in Estonia.
Step 6: Initiate the registration of share capital - €100,000 for exchange services, €250,000 for wallet services.
Step 7: Establish a fully operational office in Tallinn.
Step 8: Appoint a local director with the necessary qualifications.
Step 9: Assign a skilled AML officer.
Step 10: File the application to secure a Virtual Currency Service Provider License.
